On The Road Again...
After much back and forth...buying and cancelling plane tickets...humming and hawing...we have decided to drive to Idaho TONIGHT! We're taking some inspiration from other parents I know who drive through the night when they have littles who don't have much to do other than chill in their carseat. Wish us luck!
I must say that I'm pretty dang excited to see my family. Also, my dear friends: Jen, Erica, Makenna, Jaime, Emmylou, & Rachel. I can't belive the serendipity that has struck in the fact that all of those girls will be within driving distance of me this week! Anyone else living in Burley or Idaho Falls that would like to hang out with us, we would love to see you too. Email me at walker dot miranda at gmail dot com
P.S. Don't worry Serin...I'm taking my laptop and camera so that I can blog about camp still. I know that's what you're worried about *sheesh*

Quick update
Either way, I set her down on her belly on a blanket on the floor the other day and went into the kitchen to make myself some lunch. About 5 minutes later I walked back into the living room where I found her about four feet away from where she started with her face buried in the dog's bed... I guess she likes the smell of old cedar chips and dog funk. You might argue that she scooted that far but there's a lot of friction to overcome going across the carpet. Plus, doesn't rolling come first? On another occasion, Miranda put Z down for the night on her back and when we went in to check on her later she was laying on her belly. So unless there is a rogue baby roller in my neighborhood going from house to house putting babies on their tummies (I like to think of someone from my parents generation who still hasn't bought into the "back to sleep" campaign) Azalea is now officially a full member of the rolling club... which, I'm afraid, means no more sleeping on the big bed by herself.
See how sad that makes her?

What a Great Weekend
We had such a great 4th of July weekend! In the morning we took Izzy to the dog park with Ben, Rachel, and Jem. She probably feels like it’s been years since we’ve taken her so she was pretty excited. After a stop at Sonic we were dying of heat so we decided to go for a swim in Brian’s pool.
Okay, how cute is Zayley in her little tiny swim suit with her little hat and her fat little legs!!! She loved LOVED being in the pool. I think I actually got sick of the pool before she did. The best part was when we had her floating on her tummy and walked backwards; she would kick like crazy and it was about the most adorable thing ever.
Later that day we had a barbecue with some of Nate’s classmates and lit off some fireworks at somebody’s house. As for professional fireworks shows…I’d rather not talk about that. Poor Zayley was such a great baby despite the fact that her parents showed serious neglect when it came to letting her nap and putting her to bed on time.

100th Post Blogtacular!
The first time I made Zayley laugh by tickling her I thought I would die from her adorableness. Luckily I lived. Whew. I hope you are as lucky.
We borrowed a Johnny Jumper from a friend. Since Zayley has wanted to stand up since she was umm...a week old, she enjoys it immensely. I really wanted to put this to music...but I want you all to be able to see it before she goes off to college.

Rice Cereal = Not That Great
First of all, we started when I was already getting a little cranky…not ideal conditions.
Mom gave me the first bite with the food on her finger. I have always found mom’s finger to be delicious and wonderful to suck on so that was no big deal.
After that there were a few bites with the spoon and then already…BORING. Mom keeps saying ‘at least she didn’t gag on the stuff,’ so I’m pretty sure she considers the experience a success.
I really wanted to just suck on my fingers (I love them so much). I wasn’t even that interested in playing in the stuff because let’s face it, if I can’t pick it up and suck on it, I don’t care about it.
But don’t get me wrong…I’m sure the world of solid foods is tres exciting once we move past the rice cereal phase. But for right now, I think I prefer nursing.
Rock on y’all.
P.S. My mom just read this post and she told me to watch my attitude.
